Stewardship Today
It Depends Upon How You Look At It!!
Did you ever feel like what you have to offer will not make a difference, or that you cannot afford to give?
There are many philanthropists in our country that contribute huge sums of money and valuable possessions to their favorite charities. Such contributions have helped to establish foundations and causes that help make life better for many people and to further the posssibility for cures and treatments of horrible diseases. Some generous givers do so because they have plenty to give to support cause that may help thousands.
Then, there are those that feel that the small contribution that they make to a worthy cause will not make a difference. They may even feel that they cannot afford to give. The Bible is filled with examples of common people that make small contributions which go on to make huge differences in a horrible situation. Just ask the little lad that offered his lunch and feed thousands.
For you see, with Jesus, the measure of our gifts is not how much we give, as it is in how much we have left. Does the level of our giving represent a sacrifice to the Lord? Jesus is more concerned with "how we give" as to "how much we give." It depends on how you look at it!
"Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quandrans. So He called His disciples to Himself, and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; "for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood."
Mark 12:41-44
